The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office and its collaborative partners invite media and the community to join the official announcement of the 2020 World Heritage Festival schedule and event highlights. The event will include invited guest speakers, special cultural performances, and details on this year’s festival as a preview of what attendees can expect at the 5th Annual World Heritage Festival.

RESTORED BY LIGHT (Event Tentative)

The Office of Historic Preservation’s popular event Restored by Light returns to Mission San Jose in celebration of the Mission San Jose 300th anniversary.  At dark, the facade of Mission San Jose will be restored to its original frescoed appearance using projection technology illumination. Celebrate our local heritage with food, music, and fun!

Registration fees:

  • Adults 18 years and older are $35 per person
  • Ages 12-17 are $20 flat rate
  • Ages 11 and younger are $15 flat rate

In celebration of Mission San Jose’s 300th year!  Tour de Las Misiones is a one of a kind opportunity to visit and learn about the historic San Antonio Missions. This Bike Ride Tour, Walk and Run will feature tour guide escorts. All events will begin and end at Mission Park Pavilion #1. Registered participants are guaranteed to receive a commemorative bib, passport and t-shirt. 

MUSIC AND MOVIE UNDER THE STARS

Guests can enjoy an evening of Music and Movie Under the Stars. Celebrate our local heritage with food, live music, and connect with our military historians and veterans to learn about our city’s rich military history. This free family-friendly event will be filled with fun interactive activities, pop-up vendors, food trucks, and refreshments. Beginning at dusk, guests can enjoy a special screening of the 1986 film, "Top Gun" (Rated PG).
